I’ve been twice to this West Village restaurant and I have to say how impressed I was with the food. Perfectly proportioned and extremely affordable, this trendy but sophisticated cuisine blew me away.
I love food, but my favorite type is Italian. An Italian meal is rarely a failure and it’s a pretty safe food to turn to if you have no clue what to eat. The menu at L’artusi is the perfect combination of traditional flavors with a modern twist. What could be better?
Tucked in the heart of one of the best neighborhoods in Manhattan, I ventured to this spot first with my boyfriend and we went a second time with my friend, Stef, and her boyfriend. (Stef actually has a wonderful food blog, you must check it out.) I sampled a variety of dishes off of the menu, but both times my main order was the Autumn Squash Ravioli — so rich and flavorful, every bite was superb.

The wait is a different story, be on the safe side and reserve a table a few days in advance (a week in advance would be your safest bet). This two story, yet petite, restaurant fills up fast and everyone dining takes their time to enjoy their meal.
Other must-try dishes: Garganelli (mushroom ragu), the Spaghetti (with garlic, parmesan, and chilies), and take a look at their cheese menu and start your meal off with a cheese plate and share it between you and your friends (or don’t share!).
